HBCUs Band Together
HBCUs Band Together is a scholarship initiative designed to bring together those who love and seek to support HBCU’s, HBCU Bands and their band members during the COVID-19 crisis; while celebrating the talent, contribution and impact of HBCU marching bands on the culture, and the roles they play in educating aspiring musicians and developing future leaders. NRG stadium is sure to be filled with limitless energy, as anticipation builds for the first chance to see new performances by the top performing bands in the Nation. Vibrations of the drums and pitch of the horns will grab you. Bands marching with precision, then free form dancing makes thousands laugh, sing and cheer non-stop!
Webber Marketing, in partnership with the Harris County Houston Sports Authority (HCHSA), is proud to announce the return of the Cracker Barrel National Battle of the Bands to Houston, Texas at the NRG Stadium on Saturday, August 29, 2020.
Over the last six years, the event organizers have generated more than $435,000 in scholarships for participating colleges and universities who display their school’s dynamic spirit and music programs during their captivating performances.
In addition to the talent being featured on the field, the event will continue its tradition of community events in the city of Houston such as the HBCU college recruitment fair, which is free and open to area students interested in higher education opportunities from 20 of the top HBCU’s in the country.
We celebrate the rich experience and anticipate the excitement of witnessing show-stopping performances from some of the country’s top Historically Black Colleges and University (HBCU) marching bands as they make their way to NRG Stadium in August 29, 2020..
